Nothing much has changed though a hundred years had passed. Peddlers still dress decently, walking around selling their wares diligently under the sky, rain or shine. They don't mind should any of their acquaintances see or hear them hollering in the streets. They serve to satisfy their customers the best as they could while keeping their families in their minds. They toil so they could survive each day. They also labor, hoping to 'build' their dreams somehow. So if you see a rare smile on a peddler's face, it reflects her or his bright disposition.

In music, as in any other forms of art, people are equal. In music, people coming from all walks of life share that common interest. Whether you have earned a degree or barely finished schooling, middle class or indigent, introvert or outspoken, executive or blue collar employee, religious-conservative or liberal, , whether one is an urban resident or a rural folk, with foreign blood or with native skin, whether one speaks English fluently or talks merely in a dialect, it does not matter. All find a place in music, whether a person is vibrato or off key.
But there are certain people gifted in music who promote appreciation for that art. They guide the rest of us and entertain us the best way they can.
